C.E.Hansen was kind enough to make a stop to our blog and answer to some questions.

First we asked her to describe herself:

“I’m just a mother, a wife and a dog lover, who has a passion for writing. I can’t stop. It fuels my fire so to speak. In fact, I couldn’t stop if I wanted to. The people inside my head literally wake me up in the middle of the night and are very forthright with their opinions on how my story should go. I listen only because they have not steered me wrong yet.

By day, I work in an upscale wine and gourmet food store. It’s a living…for now!”

• Are your characters based on people you know?
  “They are to a degree. You can only write about people you know if you want them to come off as real to the readers. Whether they are loosely based on yourself, or someone you know, they need to have a little bit of ‘real’ in them. You can stretch the story, but if the people are real, flaws and all, the reader can relate to them.”

• Which of your books is your most favourite?
  “I’d have to say It’s A Crime, because it was my first. It was also the hardest, for the same reason. I was also really pleased with It’s A Shame, as it wrapped up Grace and Cole’s story perfectly in my mind.”

• Do you have a specific writing routine?
  “Yes, I actually do. It’s a very odd routine. I come home from work, get a glass of wine, sit on the sofa and open my laptop. My husband blasts the TV and I type away, lost in my own little world. It’s gotten so I can’t write without noise.”

• What are your current projects?
  “I actually have three books started, one a thriller, one about a serial murderer and another erotic romance. I won’t give too much away, but suffice it to say, I’ve been a busy bee.

• What’s next for you?
  “Now I have to concentrate on getting my books in front of as many readers as possible. Believe it or not, that is almost a full time job. That is why us writers love you bloggers, and readers. That equals reviews and that’s what we need the most.”

C.E. Hansen is an American writer who wrote her first romance novel at age fourteen when she discovered writing about boys and girls was way easier than actually having a relationship of her own. Since that time, her communication skills haven’t improved, but she likes to think her writing has. After earning an associate’s degree in literature from WC, she worked in a bus company, a law office and a wine/gourmet food shoppe, but she never abandoned writing.

She’s a proud mother of a beautiful daughter, lives in New Jersey with her husband and Maltese Zoe, and if she’s not working on her latest sexy story, you can find her reading, watching cable television, or indulging in her unhealthy addiction to chocolate.

C.E. Hansen’s debut novel IT’S A CRIME was released May 2013, her follow up novel IT’S A SHAME, was released November 11th, 2013.

Her latest, ACT ACCORDINGLY, takes a turn from her normal. Instead of a thriller/suspense, it is a romantic comedy with a healthy injection of spice!
