But before I come off sounding like a psycho, I do the same thing with good things as well. In my books, good always wins. I’m primarily an optimist that believes good triumphs over evil. I do my best to make sure the good guy always wins.”

“I still work full time, but I try to write on my lunch breaks almost every day. I also try to write when I get home, and it’s rare when I don’t write on the weekends. I try to either write or work on the website every day in some form. Some days I make a lot of progress, some days I don’t, but everything I do keeps the momentum going and that’s what’s important to me.

It changes how I perceive a book when I hear the voice of the person who wrote it. Now visitors to my website can hear my voice.”

Willow is a sex demon. She is a succubus that’s fed off the hormones, sweat, breaths her partners secrete during sex. Briefly that means when she has ‘lunch’, she doesn’t have to count calories. As soon as I read this book’s description and first pages, I knew I wanted to read it. I found the idea of sex demons unique and original. Additionally, ‘Remember me’ has a captivating storyline that makes you want to turn the pages to know what’s next.
I loved Ms Knott’s writing style. Her language is eloquent and humorous, such a pleasure to read. Every scene is beautifully described, especially the sex scenes (yeah!), and obviously the author spent much time thinking every single detail of the world she created. The story is so engaging and full of twists that I couldn’t put it down. Lots of questions needed an answer. Who would want to kidnap a sex demon? Will Willow find someone to remember her? Everything was answered in the most delightful way.
Honestly, I can’t wait to read the next installment in the Sex Demon book series!

On July 27, 1981 a seven-year-old boy called Adam John Walsh was abducted from a Sears department store at the Hollywood Mall in Hollywood, Florida, and later found murdered and decapitated. His death earned national publicity. His story was made into the 1983 television film Adam, seen by 38 million people in its original airing. His father, John Walsh, became an advocate for victims of violent crimes and the host of the television program America’s Most Wanted.
Convicted serial killer Ottis Toole confessed to Adam’s murder but was never convicted for this specific crime due to loss of evidence and a recanted confession. The police investigation of his abduction was alleged to be unsatisfactory, and they lost the bloodstained carpet from Toole’s Cadillac, the machete used to decapitate Adam, and eventually, the car itself. DNA testing was in a rudimentary state in the early 1980s and it was not possible then to determine the source of the blood found in the Cadillac.
Willis Morgan was an eye witness at the mall the day Adam was taken, but rather than feel relief when the Hollywood Police Department finally convicted suspect Ottis Toole in 2008, he felt sick and frustrated. Frustrated that a young child was snatched from right in front of him. Frustrated that evidence, leads and witness testimony were lost. Frustrated that eyewitness testimony of Jeffrey Dahmer being at the Hollywood Mall the same day was disregarded. Frustrated because there was a compelling wall of evidence that it was Jeffrey Dahmer, the Milwaukee Cannibal, who killed Adam, and not Toole. And most of all frustrated because no justice has yet been served for Adam Walsh. Since I discovered this book on Amazon, I was eager for an interview with its author. Willis Morgan and I had recently a little chat and here is what he said to me…
“A detective talked the Hollywood Police Department into pinned Adam’s murder on the wrong person. I want everyone to know it was not Ottis Toole that abducted and murdered Adam Walsh.”
“For me the biggest hurdle to overcome has been marketing and getting the media to cover this story.
During the December 16, 2008, closing conference, Police Chief Chadwick E. Wagner fed the Walsh family and the media more baloney than would fit in any sandwich. Mainstream media outlets accepted the transparently contrived story as the truth without investigating and without even the slightest bit of skepticism. As a consequence, the media ate the sandwich.
The following are just some of the headline stories that ran the day after the closing:
Afterward, I tried to tell the media the true story, but in the gold rush frenzy of media competition, they seemed to be more interested in getting the official story out. Since most got it wrong, my frustration as a witness was exacerbated. Getting the HPD, the State Attorney’s Office, and the courts to listen has proven harder than I ever imagined. This, then, is my odyssey as a frustrated witness. And this is Adam’s story as much as it is mine.”

Willis Morgan was born in Port Jefferson, Long Island, NY. He graduated from Bellport High School then went on to Suffolk County Community College before joining the United States Air Force as a Security Police Officer.
In 1972 Willis moved to Miami and started working for the Miami Herald. In 1977 he became a supervisor in charge of the training program for the pressroom.
In 1981 Willis became involved in the Adam Walsh case after he had an encounter with one of America’s most notorious serial killers, Jeffrey Dahmer, in Radio Shack located in the Hollywood Mall, Hollywood Florida. The day was July 27, 1981. This was the same day that Adam Walsh was abducted.
After being brushed off by the Hollywood Police Department when he tried to tell them what happened. Willis spent the next three decades trying to find justice for Adam.
After the Hollywood Police Department closed the case on December 16, 2008 pinning Adam’s murder on a sycophantic serial confessor, Ottis Toole, Willis started tracking down other witnesses to find out where the police went wrong. It was also about that time Willis started writing his book Frustrated Witness! Willis wants the world to know it was not Ottis Toole that murdered Adam.

The book description was even more compelling to me.

As you can understand I couldn’t wait to have a little chat with author Mikki Smith and get to know more about her debut book.
“20+ years ago for some strange reason the words Dark Secrets kept coming to me, I have no idea why, so I typed it out. Then I started seeing things play out in my head so I typed what I saw and soon I’d seen a story coming to life. I wrote down what I felt my characters looked like in my head and in a few months I had over a thousand pages. There was Dark Secrets. Through the many pages and write out I found I love writing, I love the fact that I can be who or whatever I want and do whatever I desire without guilt or condemnation.”
“Getting published was a challenge at first since I wasn’t computer savvy. First I went to the library and looked at a book on publishers what they want and who is looking for first time authors, but no luck so I started googling publishers for horror/ paranormal and Full Moon press popped up. So I sent her a query letter, she got right back with me and asked for my manuscript and said she thinks this might be what she’s looking for, she asked me to give her a couple weeks to read it so while I was waiting I sent out probably 30 query letters and it was just under a couple of weeks when Ronda got back with me. I signed not wanting to put it off, after I did I had three other offers. It was rough at first but well worth it.”
“Misty my main character, I used a friend from school’s description, Jamie Gregory, she was plain but very pretty one that never had to wear make-up, that’s how I’d seen my character so she fit perfect. Laura, Misty’s best-friend I used another girl’s description to a tee, even the snobby part she fit the profile perfect, two opposites being best friends. Detective Billy Norris, I made him to look the way the guys did in the seventies, he actually is described as one of my boyfriends back then with a ponytail, we won’t mention the others names, but if they should see this they will know who they are.”
“Dark Secrets is fiction/thriller/suspense/occult I say all of those because there is such a mixture in the book.”
“I write when I feel like it, there are days when I can write and write but then there are times when I won’t even attempt it. I don’t have a certain time to write I just do it, but when I do I have to have the television on or I can’t think, I know weird right?”
“I am making Dark Secrets a series, kinda like what V.C.Andrews did, where all the books branch off one way or another! Now I am co-writing the second book (Brewing Storm) with my sister-in-law Susan Lamey, plus I’m working on a book it will be a standalone book titled (For the Love of Johnny) based on a true story but will be fiction. It’s about child abuse-suicide- and a rare genetic crippling disease, plus I’m going to do a book about our heroes in their own words, but I haven’t started that yet. When that is finished and published half of the proceeds will either go to wounded warriors or towards building an apartment building for our homeless vets so they can have a place to call home. So for right now this is what I’m doing until something else comes to mind.”
-What’s next for you?
“Just going to take it day by day and finish what I’ve started until something else comes to mind but for now my plate is pretty full.”
